ToF-SIMS Imaging Elucidates Spinal Cord Lipid Dynamics in ALS

Hanrieder et al. published their paper on elucidation of spatial lipid dynamics in post mortem spinal cord of patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The data reveal an ALS associated increase of proinflammatory lipid mediators and metabolites in confined regions of the ventral spinal cord. The data give insight in potential mechanisms underlying motor neuron degeneration in ALS.
